GENERAL
Friends and Family - we are so excited to have you join us on Ibiza for our wedding weekend. Ibiza is a magical island off the coast of Spain, in the Balearic Sea. Our wedding will take place at a villa, Can Tarba, in the peaceful northeast of the island.
Coordinates here: https://goo.gl/maps/2vSRgJEGimN
We so appreciate the time and effort everyone is putting in to join us, and we want to make your travel as smooth as possible.
We’ll be planning activities for Friday (Sept. 23rd), Saturday (24th - the wedding day) and Sunday (25th), so we recommend a Thursday (22nd) arrival to get settled into Ibiza time, and then a Monday (26th) - or Tuesday (27th) if you want to make a real trip of it - departure. If you can’t take too much time away, a Friday(23rd) arrival or Sunday (25th) departure could also work. We do not recommend a Saturday arrival from the U.S. even if it seems like you’ll get in in the morning.
We will be arranging accommodations for these dates, and share more info below about how this - or reserving your own accommodations - will work.
For dress, we suggest light, island colors.
PLEASE reach out with any questions, we’re happy to help answer or coordinate.
FLIGHTS
There are no direct flights from the U.S. to Ibiza. The easiest connections are via Madrid or Barcelona, both are about a quick 30-45min flight to the island. Traveling from the US, the best travel option is typically a late night red eye to Barcelona or Madrid, then a late morning flight to the island. This means your outbound flight will be the evening before you want to arrive. Many European cities fly to Ibiza as well, as you’ll see below.
Late September is the end of the high season, but flights hover around +/- $1000 pp round trip from the US and they will likely stay at this price for the next couple months. There are more economical options that require a bit more work; more on that below.
There are also ferries from Valencia or Denia in Spain if you’d like to get creative, but we’ve never tried this.
FROM NEW YORK
Link to options (wait for it): here.
Air Europa, Iberia, American all have connections in Madrid for about $900 round trip.
British Airways, with a layover at LHR, just under $1000
Air Berlin has flights just under $900 that stop in Dusseldorf
FROM THE DC AREA
One stop: British Airways, with a layover at LHR, around $1000
Most options here from American Airlines, SwissAir, Iberia, etc are at least 2 stops. Some more 1 stop options seemed to come up on justfly.com.
Not a lot of one stop options from DC, let us know if you need help with flights from DC.
FROM BOSTON
Link to options (wait for it): here.
Iberia and British Airways, with connections in Madrid or London, for about $900 round trip.
American Airlines, with connections in Madrid for about $1000 round trip.
FROM IRAN
Fly to a major European city (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, etc), then fly direct to Ibiza from there. See the options from within Europe below. Travel agents are the best way to go to set this up.
ECONOMICAL OPTIONS FROM THE US
1. Flights with 2+ stops can cost about $150 - $300 less, but have travel times of 16+ hrs.
2. Buy an affordable round trip flight to a European city (or tack our wedding onto your own European holiday), then use a small discount European carrier to get to Ibiza. These flights are usually btwn $20 - $100 each way. You will need to retrieve your own baggage at the layover and sometimes change terminals. It’s a lot of coordination, but can be a good cost saver.
If you are flying from within Europe, just be aware that carriers begin to slow down their services in September, so sometimes there might only be one flight a day, if that. Discount European carriers and their partner cities below:
- Vueling (vueling.com). Flights to IBZ from: Barcelona, Madrid, most major cities in Spain, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Lisbon
- Ryan Air (ryanair.com). Brussels, Marseille, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Dublin, Many cities in Italy, Osla, Barcelona, Madrid, major cities in Spain, many cities in the UK
- Easy Jet (easyjet.com) Amsterdam, Basel, Belfast, Bristol, Geneva, London, Lyon, Milan, Naples, Paris, Venice
FROM WITHIN EUROPE
If flying from within Europe, just be aware that carriers begin to slow down their services in September, so sometimes there might only be one flight a day, if that.
Outside the major carriers, here are some discount options that fly to Ibiza:

ACCOMMODATIONS
Ibiza is filled with beautiful, peaceful villa. We’re arranging a number of villas, each with 4 - 7 bedrooms, for our guests. The villas are all within 5 - 15min of the wedding venue, which is the villa where we’ll be staying. Transportation to wedding & other activities will be coordinated from these villas.
Here are a few examples of villas we’ll be renting:
The villas will be rented from Sept 21 through Sept 26. The cost will be $500 - $1000 per bedroom for the entire stay (meaning couples can split this). To simplify things, we will not be prorating the costs based on how many nights people are staying; everyone will pay for the full stay. We think the prices are reasonable enough to make this work - but if you have any issues or concerns at all let us know.
**Unless we hear otherwise, we’re assuming all guests are going to stay in these villas. You can let us know - via the RSVP form by April 15 - if you would like to make your own arrangements**
We’ll assign you housing with people with whom you'll be comfortable. If you any special requests, just include a note in the form, and we’ll do our best. Don’t worry, everyone is nice. :)
We’ll send over payment instructions and more details about housing assignments shortly.
IF YOU’D LIKE TO MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS:
First, we don’t recommend this because it’ll be more fun to stay with the gang! But if you want to, please be sure to note this in the accommodations form, and here is some information...
Hotels
Most hotels are in the more touristy areas - at least 30min from the location of the wedding. However, there are some nicer ones semi-near the wedding which we recommend if you want to go that route:
Atzaro www.atzaro.com/en/
Hacienda Na Xamena www.haciendanaxamena-ibiza.com
Aguas de Ibiza www.aguasdeibiza.com/en
Pure House purehouseibiza.com
Can Carreau cancurreu.com
La Torre del Canónigo latorredelcanonigo.com
Your own villa
Other than airbnb.com, check homeaway.com and virbo.com. There are also some higher end villas rental companies, we can send you these if you send us an email.
TRANSPORTATION
Throughout Your Stay
We’ll organize transportation from the villas we’ve rented to the wedding itself and other organized activities.
That said, if you want to do your own exploring and avoid taxi arrangements, then we recommend a car. We’ve had great experiences renting from http://www.motoluis.co.uk/ibiza/cars-hire-en.html. We suggest getting a jeep, just because. You could always team up with another person or couple and share a car.
Arrival
When you arrive at the airport, there are always plenty of taxis to take you to your villa/hotel; they are safe and trustworthy.
Departure
For your departure, we’ll help you connect with drivers for return trips.
